The Pacific Regional Meet in Bakersfield, CA. - April, 2002
Hosted by the Central California Falcons Chapter of the Falcon Club of America

We spent a wonderful weekend at the Rio Bravo Resort just East of Bakersfield attending the Pacific Regional Meet of the Falcon Club of America.  There were nearly 90 cars in attendance during the two day event - all Falcons, Falcon Rancheros and wagons from all over the West coast.  During the awards banquet John was surprised when he was called up to receive the First Place trophy for Daily Driver in the Hardtop Futura Class.

Our Trophy!

Fabulous Fords Forever Show at Knott's Berry Farm - April, 2002

This was our third year to have our car at the Fabulous Fords Forever Car Show which is an annual event held at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California.  This year, like the last couple years, the show was limited to 1600 cars.  It is, without a doubt, the best Ford only car show in the western United States!  No trophy's are given out here, just a chance to show off your car and meet people that share the same interest in cars (Ford's that is!).

Our car at the Temecula Rod Run in February, 2002

This was the first year we attended the Temecula Rod Run and we were impressed. The show had approximately 900 entrants this year, and to be honest, we felt honored to be there.  There were some absolutely gorgeous vehicles on display!  This show is held annually in the streets and side lots of Old Town Temecula, CA.  Shortly after this show we attended a local Cruise Night at Ruby's Diner in Whittier, CA and took home our first trophy for Best Daily Driver!

Our car at the Fabulous Ford's Forever Car Show
Knott's Berry Farm, April, 2001

Our second year at the Ford Show was a great time.  As always, John's brother Ed had his '66 Fairlane in the show as well.  At this show they group the cars by model, so the spectators can wonder from one car model to the other.  With 1,600 cars in attendance, that in it self is an all day chore.

Our car at the Route 66 Rendezvous Car Show in San Bernardino, CA
September, 2000

The Route 66 Rendezvous car show and cruise in San Bernardino, CA. in September of 2000.  This year they decided to limit the show to 2,443 (that's the number of miles that Route 66 ran across the U.S.).  As usual, the show gets about 500,000 people over the four day event!  It's a unique event in that the cars on display line the streets of downtown San Bernardino, and cruising is encouraged, and open exhaust is also allowed on Saturday. Our only complaint was the heat - it reached 108 degrees on Saturday! But we still had a great time. Without a doubt, this is John's all time favorite car show!  We missed the show in 2001, but are planning on attending in 2002.

Falcon at the Knott's Ford Show 4/00
Our first real car show
Knott's Berry Farm, April, 2000

Here's our car at the Fabulous Fords Forever Car Show we attended in April, 2000.  As I've said, It's an annual, "Ford only" event that draws cars from all over the west coast. On this trip the car was basically stock except the wheels, tires and the heavy duty rearend I installed. If you're a Ford fan, or just like looking at cars, this is a must see event. The show features cars from Ford, Lincoln and Mercury, as well as some of the exotic Ford powered cars like the Pantera, Cobra and a few Tiger's.  This year, comedian and talk show host Jay Leno attended the show to check out all the cars as well.

Brother Ed's award winning'66 Fairlane
It won "Best in Class" at the 2001 Fairlane Nationals in Flagstaff, AZ
