Our Ford F250 Super Duty

Here's a photo of our truck after we installed the "new" wheels and larger tires.

Before and after photos of the tires and wheels
The photo on the left is the stock tires and wheels that come with the Lariat package. The photo on the right is the new XLT wheels that we traded our Lariat wheels for, with the larger than stock rubber. The new tires are 305/70-16 Goodyear Wranglers. Although they are only slightly taller than the stock tires, they are much wider which will help us out when on soft sand and loose dirt which we do often when pulling the trailer into places like the Glamis sand dunes.
The lift kit waiting to be installed
The lift kit we chose was one from Jack-It Accessories. It's a Tuff Country made item that is designed to lift the front of the truck two and a half inches. The kit includes a set of five leaf spring packs that install in addition to the stock double leaf springs, a track bar relocating bracket and all the necessary hardware. This is a fairly common modification because for what-ever reason the factory ride height on these trucks has them sitting a little nose down (see the photo above and you'll see what I mean). Once installed, this kit will give the truck a real off road stance, and is supposed to improve the ride when towing as well. Stay tuned for the results....
