Our most recent family vacation was spent on the California side of the Colorado River. We camped in our trailer at Emerald Cover in the city of Parker with several friends. This was Kaitlyn's (three weeks old) first camping trip and she did very well, despite the 100+ temperature. We took her out on the boat with us and even found a life vest small enough for her to wear. Karlie (almost two and a half) went tubing for the first time and loved it. Both girls were troopers and we had a wonderful time.
The picture above shows the way the River looked the day before we arrived. By mistakes, the upper dam had been closed off and the lower dam was left open practically draining this leg of the River. It was quite a site from what we heard, leaving boats high and dry until about noon that day. By the time we arrived, the River was back to normal.
