Karlie was very excited on her first trip to the zoo.

A weekend in San Diego wouldn't be complete without a trip to the zoo.  It just has to be one of the most beautiful zoos in the world.  Karlie loves to talk about elephants, but when we got within sight of them, she wouldn't even look at them.  (Nothing personal...she felt the same way about the rhinos.)  It must have been a size thing.  However, she did enjoy many of the other animals there, including the giraffes, zebras, monkeys, and the many different kinds of bears including the pandas. (We know, a panda isn't really a bear, but let's not tell Karlie, okay?)  She even saw a new baby giraffe -- just a few days old!

The San Diego Zoo is one of the very few that has the Giant Panda. They are so cute, they look just like a huge teddy bear
