Camping World recently gave us a free weekend stay at a really nice RV resort, so we jumped at the chance to check out a new place. (Plus, our home was having some emergency plumbing work done...a long story!) We were nearly floored when we arrived at Rancho California RV Resort, a very classy, upscale campground located several miles from civilization. To describe it, it's basically a golf course that has RV spaces along the fairways and greens. Our particular site was situated next to a green (the 6th hole, I believe), and right next to a small pond and fountain. Even with our beautiful new, one-year-old trailer, we were somewhat out of place amongst the many $100,00 to over $700,000 RVs that had purchased sites at this resort. The spaces, which are actually sold, not rented, are nothing more than cement pads that start at $79,000 and go up to $129,900. The owners of most of the sites had brick BBQs and entertainment centers built on them.
